Ionian Academy (Opening Ceremony, Plenary)
The Ionian Academy (1824–1864) was the first modern Greek university, located in Corfu and founded by British philhellene Frederic North (Lord Guilford). The Academy made a significant contribution to Greek higher education and is considered the predecessor of today's Ionian University.
